Opening on 4 April, a new online exhibition at Silicon Valet curated by Faith Holland, Lorna Mills and Wade Wallerstein celebrates moving image art and creates a space where art can proliferate despite the current crisis.
Well Now WTF presents work by more than sixty moving image artworks and provides a comprehensive insight into current themes and techniques driving digital art. The exhibition opens on 4 April with an online opening party from 8 to 10pm EST via Twitch & Discord, with a pay-what-you-wish ($5 suggested) entry fee which will go to the participating artists. The exhibition itself is free to attend and is accompanied by a series of events, which will take place on the exhibition website and via Twitch.
The exhibition is simultaneously a response to the enormity of the current, overwhelming and relentless, presence of online news - an expression of variety and potential at a time of increasing restrictions and repetitive headlines - and an act of community building. Well Now WTF showcases the work of artists who may, for some time, be unable to exhibit in bricks-and-mortar galleries; it also provides a way for artists, gallerists and collectors to respond collaboratively to the evolving crisis and its impact on culture and creativity.
