The Royal College of Art is the world’s most influential, wholly postgraduate university of art and design. A concentrated community of artists, designers and communicators, it was last year named as the world’s number one university in its field.
The School of Fine Art sits within this as a place ambitious not to proliferate and perpetuate what is already known but to generate new practices and insights.
Artists exploit the possibilities of new technologies while also engaging with the value of traditional approaches. Students are encouraged to focus on the particularities of their own work, whilst also embracing collaboration across the school and wider college network, and making the most of the supportive environment the college affords for the varied research enquiries Fine Art can enable.
Alumni from the School form part of an international network of creative individuals who have shaped and continue to shape our culture, from luminaries David Hockney and Tracey Emin, to recent graduates exhibiting across the world, in Bloomberg New Contemporaries to the Venice Biennale.
