As an artist working between the UK and India, Ashokkumar's central discourse deals with the unrelenting human desire for truth.  Working across film, photography, installation and digital media he studies ways in which people form “truths” from both solicited and unsolicited sources. Artworks explore contemporary concerns such as how data is mediated and formed into information, the uncertainty of the authorship and the evolution of a message as it travels through a multiplicity of unconventional cultural distillers, well beyond the institutionalised cultural gate keepers of the past. The fine line between truth and faith in something being true, is what motivates him.
