Melis Ragusin is a mixed-media and new media artist whose work spans AI-driven video art, AI-generated fine art prints, and sculptural wall pieces crafted from physical materials.
Born in Izmir, Turkey, she studied International Relations & Economics at Towson University in Baltimore, USA, and completed the Artificial Intelligence: Business Strategies and Applications program at UC Berkeley Executive Education, graduating with a final grade of 100. She is currently expanding her expertise through professional courses in AI filmmaking and creative advertising.
Her practice blends tactile craftsmanship with advanced AI and cinematic tools — including ChatGPT, MidJourney, Runway ML, Sora, Google Flow, Deforum, and Adobe Creative Suite — to explore impermanence, presence, and emotional landscapes. Her process centers on iterative AI prompting, motion design, and sound integration, transforming still images into immersive moving narratives.
Recent projects include AI-driven video storytelling for the fragrance brand Within51/49. Ragusin’s work bridges digital aesthetics with physical craftsmanship and has been exhibited internationally.
Artist StatementI work at the intersection of emotional storytelling, cinematic motion, and generative AI. My art blends human presence with algorithmic movement, using tools like Runway ML, Sora, MidJourney, Premiere Pro, and Deforum to build visual narratives that evolve over time.
My process begins with prompting — an intuitive and layered search through AI systems to find the moment when emotion takes form. From there, I sculpt motion, texture, and sound into loops or short films that feel alive. I’m drawn to impermanence — how identities dissolve, how clouds shift, how feelings flicker and pass.
I create to feel — and to invite others into feeling. Each piece is different because change is constant, and with every work I make, something shifts. What excites me most is watching how viewers respond — how the same piece can evoke completely different emotions from person to person. Whether conceptual or commercial, my work is rooted in emotional presence, sensory storytelling, and the subtle power of transformation.
