Curated Artist Guide

Sedition invites many new curated artists each year through several paths:

Direct submissions: Artists can email support@seditionart.com with a brief bio, selected works, and links. Our curatorial team reviews submissions for the Curated platform.

Proactive outreach: We regularly invite artists we encounter through exhibitions, museums, and other channels.

From Open to Curated: We monitor the Open platform and may invite artists to Curated based on audience engagement, sales, and curatorial fit.

There’s no single formal route; multiple avenues exist, and we welcome submissions.

No. For curated artists, Sedition’s artist liaison team handles setup.

We edit and present your biography and artwork descriptions, and collaborate with you on pricing, edition sizes, and launch planning (timing, audience, and invitations).

Your part: sign the artist agreement, deliver the artwork files and titles, and share background materials so we can present your profile effectively.

Sedition sets pricing and edition sizes in collaboration with each artist. We draw on 14+ years of market data across formats and price points to recommend a position that fits your practice and audience. That said, approaches are flexible, and pricing can follow many models, similar to the physical art world.

Artist earnings on Sedition vary widely. Results depend on factors like your existing profile and pricing, the quality and appeal of the work, and the effectiveness of marketing by you and Sedition.

Artists who remain active on the platform longer are often requested more for licensing, which can increase revenue over time. Building reliable income streams takes time, but Sedition provides multiple avenues—edition sales, subscriptions/licensing, commissions, and (if enabled) NFTs—to help you grow your audience and earnings.

Overall, outcomes range from modest to substantial, similar to the physical art world.

Sedition schedules launch dates in collaboration with you. We’ll share available windows and discuss timing that aligns with relevant events, such as exhibitions, screenings, or other activities, to maximize impact.

Here are key ways we promote artists and releases:

  • Newsletters

  • Email marketing

  • Social media

  • Community events and meetups (virtual and in-person)

  • Artist interviews and features

  • Direct advertising

  • Select physical events, exhibitions, and displays

We also collaborate on other initiatives tailored to your work and audience.

To maximize your launch, amplify it to your own audience and coordinate with us.

  • Post on your social channels and tag Sedition on Instagram and X (Twitter).

  • If you’d like to do an Instagram or X AMA, tell your artist liaison, we host these regularly.

  • Share any related events (online or offline) with us; we’re happy to help promote and boost where appropriate.

Provide clear links to the Sedition listing, and consider a short teaser/trailer and a pinned post to drive traffic during launch.

We recommend a consistent cadence so collectors stay engaged and informed about your practice. Aim for regular launches, such as once or twice a year, while prioritizing quality over frequency.

Keep us updated on your news; we’re happy to amplify it via our newsletter and social channels (please share details with your artist liaison).

Engage with the Sedition community on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Discord by commenting, posting, and resharing content.

Continue developing new works for Sedition to grow your revenue and collector base.
