I am an Australian artist based on the Far South Coast of NSW, working in digital and alternative photo media including video, digital collage, and cyanotype prints. My video works are immersive and non-narrative, designed to create contemplative spaces for reflection. Originally trained in theatre, I hold an Advanced Diploma in Dramatic Art – Directing from the Victorian College of the Arts, and worked for over a decade as a freelance director and dramaturg before transitioning into visual media. My practice is driven by a curiosity about how human experiences of the natural environment shape divine symbolism. Through symmetry and repetition, I explore how these ideas intersect with contemporary life. All of my imagery is captured locally, grounding my work in place and process. My fascination with repetition began in theatre and deepened during my studies of Islamic geometric design in Morocco (2014–2017). These influences now appear through mirroring techniques and layered distortion, revealing tensions between figuration and abstraction. My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and I am part of MAP (More Art Please), a collective creating public art events in unconventional spaces. www.catwilson.net | www.moreartplease.au
