The images in the collection all share a ‘frame within a frame’ pictorial composition. Contemplations about space, light, and the longing for what is out of reach, they are all articulated around an empty space. In turn proposals for architectural structures, 3D computer generated landscapes or digital photographs, these works highlight the ambiguity between nature and artifice in Feldmeyer’s work, blur the distinction between what is artificial and what is real.
The two video works are an exploration of rhythm and contemplation, of Nature and the discovery of patterns in its vastness. The first editions of both video were purchased by the UCL Art Museum, as part of the William Coldstream prize Feldmeyer was awarded for his degree show at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL.
