Last week, during Frieze London, Sedition hosted an intimate soirée in the heart of London - bringing together artists, collectors, and visionaries shaping the future of digital art. Set against a backdrop of luminous screens and contemporary works, the evening marked more than just a gathering: it was a statement of intent for a new chapter at Sedition.
The night opened with a warm welcome to our community - some of whom have been with Sedition since its earliest days, others experiencing the platform’s universe for the first time. Guests explored curated digital exhibitions that reflected the platform’s enduring mission: to make iconic contemporary art accessible, collectible, and alive in the digital realm.
A highlight of the soirée was a rare and electric panel conversation hosted by our CEO, Dyl Blaquiere, featuring three legendary figures from the Young British Artists era: Mat Collishaw, Nick Fudge, and Terry Flaxton.
This was not your standard art panel. Instead of rehearsed talking points, the discussion plunged deep into what it was like to live and create during the YBA era at Goldsmiths - a period defined by rebellion, experimentation, and raw creative energy. The artists shared personal stories and underground moments that rarely make it into public record: the chaos of makeshift exhibitions, the feeling of standing at the edge of a cultural shift, and the unfiltered camaraderie that ignited one of the most important movements in contemporary art.
The conversation moved fluidly between past and future - from the rise of conceptualism to the cultural shifts driven by technology today. It was a rare and intimate dialogue that underscored Sedition’s unique position at the intersection of artistic legacy and technological innovation.
Throughout the night, collectors mingled with artists, curators, and technologists over champagne and curated soundscapes. For many, it was a reminder of why art matters - not just as an object of value, but as a living, evolving language.
The Sedition Soirée is the first in a series of private gatherings designed to bring the art world closer to the digital movement. It’s an invitation to engage not only with the works themselves but with the conversations shaping what comes next.
“Our vision is simple,” Dyl added. “We want to celebrate artists, empower collectors, and build the future of art together.”As Sedition steps into its next chapter, evenings like this reaffirm our commitment to bridging past and future, physical and digital, artists and collectors.
Stay tuned for the next Sedition Soirée.
