During summer and autumn 2020, Paul Benney presents work in several solo and group exhibitions at venues in Finland (Helsinki) and the UK (Suffolk, Cornwall and London). 

Until 20 September, Benney is part of a group exhibition at the Finland National Museum, Helsinki. Inspiration - Iconic Works showcases works by internationally acclaimed artists whose practice is influenced by iconic works of Western art. These iconic pieces, such as the Mona Lisa and the Medusa Rondanini, are reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary culture - classic painting and sculpture meets digital media, late capitalism and post-colonialism. The exhibition features work by Marina Abramović, Georg Baselitz, Paul Benney, Pato Bosich, Glenn Brown, Rob & Nick Carter, Mat Collishaw, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Freddy Fabris, Nancy Fouts, Susanne Gottberg, Stephane Graff, Henry Hudson, Tom Hunter, Mark Karasick, Rachel Kneebone, Ola Kolehmainen, Jeff Koons, Joseph Kosuth, Wolfe von Lenkiewicz, Heikki Marila, Hynek Martinec, Sara Masüger, Alexander Mihaylovich, Jarmo Mäkilä, Cristiano Pintaldi, Marc Quinn, Recycle Group, Aurora Reinhard, Jenny Saville, Meekyoung Shin, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Kiki Smith, Gavin Turk, Koen Vanmechelen, Nicola Verlato and Hugo Wilson. 

Until 8 August, Benney is part of a group exhibition at Messum in London. Curating in Contrast looks at how curation and artworks combine to form new dialogues and insights. Physical placement of works, curatorial themes, and varied approaches and perspectives of contributing artists are all crucial elements in producing vibrant, inspiring and interrogative exhibitions.

Later in 2020 Benney will present some of his hybrid video projection works at Snape Maltings in Suffolk. Winter Projections will display a compilation of recent works by Benney on the external walls of the building. A solo exhibition of works by Benney will also be presented at The Museum of Curiosities in London.
