Following his 2014 solo show Objects Of Our Time at Alan Cristea in 2014 and his knighthood in 2016, Michael Craig-Martin returns to Alan Cristea for a new solo show, an exhibition of new editions titled Quotidian.
The exhibition, which comprises new screen based works, digital prints, relief prints, laser-etched panels and tape drawings, is a showcase and continuation of Craig-Martin’s distinctive aesthetic. The pieces on show can be divided into two distinct bodies of work which complement one another.
The first, a new project on display for the first time at Alan Cristea, is a celebration of 20th Century modernist architecture, paying homage to Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Gerrit Rietveld. The second, also new set of works is a collection of tape drawings and prints which continues the engagement with depicting everyday objects for which the artist is perhaps best known.
Quotidian takes place from 4 October to 17 November 2017 at Alan Cristea Gallery, Pall Mall, London. The exhibition is displayed across both floors of the gallery and is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue.
